The Ones with Gilded Bones by Nathaniel Luscombe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Unique.
The Ones with Gilded Bones by Nathaniel Luscombe is a fantasy-horror, short story that takes you on an adventure through the wetlands to discover the truth about the origin of two young girls and the secrets that surround the people they know, as well as their true nature.
This novella is perfect for book lovers who are looking to feast on a tale that offers high reading engagement, world-building, mystery, and intrigue. I recommend reading this book straight through in one sitting, and I am hoping that the author will create this into a series.
It was cool to see one of the characters become a rider, the transformation was epic, and the descriptions were vivid enough to allow bibliophiles to paint a picture in their head of what is going on in the story.
This book would have benefited from the assistance of a good editor, as I noticed a typographical mistake and a punctuation error. It may have been possible to develop this chronicle more had the author invested more time and money into it.
In the future, I hope this author explores the thought of hiring a cartographer to create a visual of this world, so readers can better imagine it.
