Wildly creative.

Pros:

1. Great book cover.
2. Solid writing.
3. Digital Dreams is edited.
4. There’s a big twist at the end of the story.
5. Unique.

Cons:

1. I will not re-read this story.
2. Malin Malin’s story is vague, based on the changes she made to get to where she is at the tale’s end. For example, she mentions waking up at 4:45 am each day, but what exactly did she do when transitioning from remote work to entrepreneur, apart from social media and content creation? It isn’t specific enough.

Digital Dreams is a fiction book with self-help and realism. I can’t tell if this is a true story, but the way the story is crafted, it appears to be fiction.

Little Red: The Third Story in the Happily Ever After Series by K.G. Sander

This is a remake of a classic.

Pros:

1. The book cover is fantastic.
2. The storyline is original and spectacular.
3. My reading engagement was high throughout this book.
4. I enjoyed the poems.
5. K.G. Sander is an excellent writer.
6. It’s short.
7. I would re-read this.

Cons:

1. I noticed a few typos.

I enjoyed this short story and recommend it to horror and dark fantasy fans.

Flesh Eaters Ate My Neighbors by Brian Berry

Pros:

3. I can tell that Brian G. Berry had fun creating this book.
4. A couple of laugh-out-loud moments.
5. There were little illustrations that added to the fun.
6. A sequel is in the making.
7. Private Sanders and Heather.

Cons:
1. I won’t re-read this book.
2. Profanity and blaspheming.
3. Some funny parts were unrealistic.
4. The storyline for Cats is better than this one.
5. The explanation behind all the monsters appearing wasn’t enough for me.
6. Although this is a horror book, I did not find it scary.

Underdogs: The Enemy | Book 3 by K. Weikel

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good.

The series continues this time from Malcom’s point of view. Is he an ally or an enemy? You’ll have to read this book to find out.

Pros:

1. It’s a clean read.
2. It’s novella-length. I could read it in one day.
3. K. Weikel is a talented wordsmith.
4. The cliffhanger is good.
5. The bonus content is a welcome addition.
6. It was interesting to see how the first two books aligned with this. Chiefly, the ending.
7. There is a lot of fantasy packed in this book.

Cons:

1. I don’t see myself re-reading this in the future.

City of Spores by Austin Shirey

A strange whodunit.

Private Investigator Johanna Kolibrik reluctantly agreed to a case to keep her struggling business afloat. Unfortunately, she gets wrapped up in something bigger as Madripol has gigantic problems. Old Town is a dark place, and the enemies she encounters are vicious.

Pros:

1. Worldbuilding.
2. A mysterious, original story.
3. An appealing book cover.
4. It’s novella-length.
5. Austin Shirey used his experience in Prague to create this book.

Cons:

1. Blaspheming and profanity.
2. Not having a glossary to reference.
3. Not including a map.
4. A lack of interior illustrations.
5. The interior formatting could have been better for the e-book. This was the version that I read.
6. Johanna walking through the sewer system without personal protective equipment was unrealistic. The bacteria, pests, smell, and waste should have made her sick.

Not including a glossary and illustrations hurt this story. It was hard for me to keep up with everything because there wasn’t a glossary to reference. I took a star away because Johanna walked through the sewer system without PPE. This should have made her sick, as it could reek of rotten eggs down there. It could also cause her to vomit, have nausea, dizziness, a lack of concentration, or a combination of these symptoms.

The cons listed above are why I did not issue this book a five-star rating. Despite issuing this book a three-star rating, I enjoyed it.

Austin Shirey should think about building a series off of this book. It would be a waste to leave it as a standalone.

Misfit’s Magic: Shades of Winter by Fred Gracely

Imaginative.

Goff continues his adventures with his two sidekicks, Halstrom and Lydia. On top of keeping his grades high at school, he fights against an evil scheme to resurrect this world’s version of the Dark Lord. Goff’s magical realm portrays a darker version compared to Harry Potter.

Pros:
1. The book cover is fantastic.
2. The illustrations are a splendid addition to this book.
3. Creative story.
4. Vivid descriptions.
5. Fred Gracely is a talented writer.
6. High-quality novel.
7. Great for YA enthusiasts.

Cons:
1. I had to force myself to continue reading to finish it.
2. Unrealistic ending.
3. No desire to re-read it in the future.
4. Bones and Maxim.
5. The editing could be better.

Huck’s Little Adventure by Zach Hawrot

It’s fine.

Based on the theme, it would be difficult to issue this story with a five-star rating. I don’t think the story was amazing, but it’s not bad either. The conclusion of this tale made me go back and look through the story one more time. I liked that this was a short story, and I enjoyed the ending. I suggest the author consider making a short story collection or increase the word count to a novelette or novella.

Family and Fury by Zach Hawrot

I liked it.

I enjoyed Family and Fury and I hope Zach Hawrot creates a short story collection in the future. It was great reading about what Riven went through to protect his family from the darkness. I liked the fast pace. The hacking and slashing against the monsters heightened the reading experience. Riven’s backstory was interesting, and the abrupt ending shocked me. I liked the twist near the end. I recommend it. It’s a delightful break in between a novel-length read.

Hey guys,

I’m behind on my book reading goals because I’ve been hooked on some animes. If you’re an anime fan like me, or if you’re curious about trying something different, then these are some animes that I recommend you watch:

Solo Leveling: This is a must-see. It’s an action-packed fantasy thriller with horror elements. You can watch it on Crunchyroll, but it’s the hottest anime right now. The story revolves around a man named Sung Jin Woo who lives in a modern society, but the twist is gates have appeared, allowing monsters into their world. Unfortunately, these beasts are immune to modern warfare, but some humans have magical prowess within them, allowing them to become Hunters. Every Hunter is ranked by class, according to their inner strength. The main character is known as the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind, since he is E-Rank.

Oshi No Ko: This is a must-see. Watching the anime is superior to reading the manga. This is the story of a woman who has excellent talent but makes a mistake by having kids when she is only sixteen. Still, her idol status could be in jeopardy, her talent goes beyond that. Along the way, she makes friends and enemies. You can watch this on HIDIVE. This show is a mix of mystery, horror, suspense, and thriller.

Frieren: I like this show a lot. It’s drama, fantasy, action, adventure, and a slice of life. The animation is top-notch, and the fight scenes are excellent. The story follows Frieren and her adventures before and after the defeat of the Demon King. I highly recommend this anime, and you can watch it on Crunchyroll.

My Dress-Up Darling: I had to include this romcom because it is so good. Those of you who have read the manga will know what I am talking about. I haven’t read the manga myself, but I have no desire to after watching the anime. I highly recommend it, and I had a great time watching the characters cosplay and intermingle.

My Hero Academia: This anime is a classic. I highly recommend it. The story follows Deku and his quest to become a hero. In his society, only a select few are born with quirks, or superpowers. Yet, Deku is born with none. This does not stop his goal of becoming a hero like the superhero, All Might.

Yu-Gi-Oh: This anime and Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds are classics. I recommend them both because they’re excellent. Whether you’re following Yugi’s adventure or Yusei’s adventure, you’re in for a wild ride. These shows are a lot of fun, and the latter is more of a thrill ride. You can watch them on Crunchyroll.
